Birdie in the Wild Series 1

Bird watching at home Any body knows the species.

Sunbird I think. Their beak is unique to collect nectar? I saw it chasing after honey bees. You tell me. The size of the bird is about 3-4 inches in length. I was about 15 feet away with my EF 75-300mm IS USM lens. Setting was f 5.6 iso1600 speed 1/400. Cropped

Starling related to the myna or cuckoo? I understand it is a migratory bird. I guess from the northern hemisphere winter season. I sighted 3 pairs of them at our residential enclave. They were feeding on the fruits of the yellow palms. It's eyes are red instead of yellow that I have seen on other website. This one just flew into my view just 10 feet from me as I was focussing on the palm fruits. This guy was about 6 inches in length.

Medicinal Plant Series 1

It is a thorny herbaceous plant. It flowers perpetually and is grown as a ornamental plant. I was surprised it fruit too. The Chinese called it "7 seng far"

I think its poisonous cos it is brewed to fight CANCER. Like Linghi its supposed to kill the cancer cells. So don't simply take my word for it .

Night stalker finally caught

Our nocturnal friend .....civet cat was finally caught none other than on the parapet of our bedroom's balcony. It just like to nap there. It slightly bigger than a mature cat but the tail is at least 2.5 feet long. Usually it go after the banana fruits I planted. It is omnivorous. When we smell of pandan or a floral whiff we know its around. No pontianak herelah.

Because of the sliding glass door I cannot use any flash. So setting the camera iso to 1600 manage to snap a few reasonable sharp shots . Even then the speed was 1/30. Need to get some new f2.8 lenses. Lens used EF28-135mm f 3.5-5.6 IS USM on monopod

The critter was only a few feet away from the camera. Once it realised I was there it took off in all directions. With all the movement I cannot get any better photos. Well there will be a next time if it wake me up again at 3am

So going back to sleep now.............Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday.

Proton Chancellor

You guys must log on to http://paultan.org/archives/2005/11/22/proton-chancellor-20-v6/ to read all those bashing & "bad to the bone"comments from fellow Malaysians. Who blame them. Same old Waja story - what new car! Even the backlights are the same. Ai yo sakit mata. No market appeal and eventually government agencies and limo services forced to buy. On the other hand if Proton sell it below RM80,000 maybe affordable to the mass. Anything above 100k you keep them in your showroom.

I believe they took the chassis from my long awaited MPV design .........not the Juara okay. Come on guys why have you not been listening to what the market wants. Just potong up MYVI and stretch it for a third row of seats. I will guarantee you it will sell ...........but please no more old generation engine no matter how cheap even Campro technology is old. Fuel efficient engine is a seller I telling you.

Langkawi Part 5 Eagle feeding

After lunch we left for our island hopping mangrove, bat cave and eagle feeding excursion. Cost of the tour for 2 adults & children RM180 for 2-3 hours. Tour agency was Golden EagleTravel & Tours Sdn Bhd

We were early to the jetty and we detoured to the Hot Spring foc and Gallery Perdana Rm5 fee per head nearby.

We were back to the jetty at 5pm sharp. The bat cave is just a short ride away. The mangrove walk is part of the quick stop. Then it was out to sea. During the speedboat ride we see many yacht moored at the water way. Some of them pay mooring fees of a few hundred ringgit per month .........cheap. You can book a yacht for a day out to sea. HH Lim did join an excursion RM275 per head for half day out to sea in a schooner. Gave me the number of the captain 012-4050649.

Hightlight was the eagle feeding . When we reach the site the birds were anticipating a feast and were circling the sky. The sun was out and the view was fanstatic. The boatman just throw in chicken skins and moving off to one side.........then the brahmin kites and white headed eagle comes gliding in to snap the food and immediately gulp them up at the same time.

The last stop Hole in the Wall a floating fish farm cum restaurant. We touch their pet stingray A bit hairy In fact my wallet is made from them! There were lobster.... a big garoupa and the spitting fish

Dinner was crab again RM60. We supposed to get a free dinner with the tour when we booked it in KL but never got it. We gave a 3/5 rating to the operator because of this. By the time we finish
dinner it was quite late 7.00 pm. On the way back to the resort got lost. Locals where very helpful 5/5 rating.

Our last 2 days were spent at Tanjung Rhu Resort. This resort is own by Tajuddin Ramli the ex boss of MAS. Coincidentially the 4 Seasons next door is owned by MAS. Now this is another chapter..........you may note that TR initial ...........................intentionally

Ringgit coin is no more legal tender

My other favorite cartoonist on Malaysian life and humor
The ringgit coin is been withdrawn from circulation because some bright chaps have been flooding the market with exact replicas. Upon the announcement the Police apprehended coin stamping machines and counterfeit coins somewhere.............with no arrest. A conspiracy or just plain coincidence.............. you tell me.

Well, the good thing is you don't have the hassle when using the shopping trolley in supermarket.

Those who miss the dateline Not to worry you can still exchange the coins at Bank Negara. For me I will keep a couple of the ringgit coins for remembrance. Who knows it may worth in gold when it get scarce to find. Keep my finger cross that they are not counterfeit coins.

Mohamed Nazri the man...............

For once somebody in the government dare to speak out among the "yes" men. I am impressed with logical explaination and approach this minister have taken regarding the ongoing farcas of the "ear squats in the nude" issue. From the start of the debacle Nazri have shown firmness and good reasoning in contradicting his counterparts' denial of wrong; defensive opinion and intimidating gestures. It is a shame we have such appointed leaders who do not have the PR protocol

I salute you and do continue to give Malaysian Public the assurance that abused of power must be cordoned and ketuk!!!!! harder the better. These people still thinks they are privileged and above others............even defying the call of Pak Lah ..........but the story will continue..................and heads will fall we will see...............SunTzu Art of War
